| Super Shoppers: Commissioner Barbara McGowan & Ald. Deborah Graham load up on bargains during the sneak peek at the new Forman Mills store. (Photo by Isaac Jones) Forman Mills Clothing Factory Warehouse is the latest discount store to arrive in Chicago’s Austin community. The huge store, in the bright and thoroughly remodeled building at 1450 North Cicero Avenue, is holding its Grand Opening starting Friday, March 18 at 7:00 AM, and continuing through Sunday. Radio personalities from WGCI, KISS-FM, and the Telemundo Money Machine will be on hand Saturday to welcome shoppers. Available are name brand clothing at bargain prices, including Timberland, LA Gear, Reebok, Infant Pelle, Derrick Rose jerseys, PhatFarm, Rocawear, and more. And, everything is 50%-80% off regular prices on the massive selection of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, and outerwear. According to Forman Mills Manager, Michael Boyd, the store has a staff of about 147. After the store is up and running, the permanent staff will probably be between 100 and 120 people working as sales clerks, cashiers, stock clerks, and managers. This is the second store in the Chicago area, with two more preparing to open at 111th & Halsted and 79th & Perry on the South Side, with more planned. Rick Forman started Forman Mills in South Philadelphia as a flea market and then grew the concept into a chain of discount department stores selling name brand overstock merchandise. He also emphasizes hiring employees from the neighborhoods served by the stores. At a special sneak peek this week, we met Alderman Deborah Graham and Commissioner Barbara McGowan with their arms full of clothes heading for the check-out. Alderman Emma Mitts had already shopped and was taking her bargains home. |

knock off clothes lol
ReplyDeleteif their clothes were fake dont u think that they wuld have been raided by now like those little neighborhood shops ijs!!
ReplyDeleteThe clothes may not be fake, but they are clearly lower quality.. In my opinion this is all fake advertisement.. You see BRAND NAME and Designer brands that you associate with quality, and those same designers clothes at Forman Mills are just not the same. I happened to come across 3 items that I had bought at Macy's at Forman Mills.. When inspected them, all 3 were noticeably different. The shirt was disproportionate and the neck was super big. It even seemed thinner then my shirt bought from Macy's. This was a Roc a Wear Tshirt. The cargo shorts where the most obvious. They were LRG cargo shorts. The quality just stood out, or lack thereof. There were threads sticking out all over the place, the fly was all messed up, and the stitching was just terrible. Then onto the Jeans. They were Ecko jeans. The jeans were pretty good at first glance. Looked all legit. That is until I tried them on. When trying them on, the proportions were off. One leg was longer then the other, and the crotch area was stitched way too tight. Then when I was zipping up the fly, the zipper broke off! LOL. Yeah. So thats that. So I bought 2 T's and some underwear. The underwear at least had the decency to say they had flaws. The Tshirts, even washed in cold water and hung dry shrunk and changed color. The quality was terrible. So my question is.... HOW?.... WHY?.... How and why are they doing this? How can they advertise these designer brands with tags saying crazy prices and sell them for $10? Why is the quality so much different from those same designer clothes bought at Macy's? Is there some kind of scam going on? I highly doubt they are fakes becuause they would have been caught already. My only thought is that these Designer Brands work with Forman Mills and make clothes specifically for Forman Mills. I mean Forman Mills is a HUGE company and makes tons of money. I would not be surprised that these Designer brands make lower quality items that look the same, just with cheaper materials. I mean its the same thing as fakes and is false advertisement, but it's just the Brands control their own fakes and make them LOL... Crazy stuff.... Thoughts anyone?

ReplyDeleteWhen people who make clothes mess up a shirt or pair of pants, it goes to the reject pile. For example, if they used too much fabric on one side of the pant leg or ran out of thread and had to start with a new spool... Or say a machine making mass amounts of Coogi sweaters got jammed, that shirt goes to the reject pile. Or the woman from China whose been sowing for 10 hours straight, the same exact shirt, accidentally triple stitches,,,, reject!!! Those clothes get sent to Forman mills. One time, looking at a rack of sweat pants at foreman mills, one of the pairs had an arm!!! The same trip, I wanted a Blackhawks tshirt, and there were letters missing, like "Chicago Blakhaws" and on the front of one Blackhawks shirt was a picture of Patrick Kane and the back of the shirt said Crawford!!! Some of the clothes are hilarious. Others, you can barely notice what's wrong. I found some really great $40 Sealy Memory Foam pillows for $8.

Hello everyone I’m Kimberly from Georgia. I’m so grateful to SAFEPORT CREDIT SPECIALIST for such wonderful work. I had three credit cards to which I pay my bills closely in most cases on due dates through pre-authorized debits. I also have a good mix of credit which is student loan but still have been deprived of a car loan. Although the majority of the negative items will be removed in a few months (about a year) time. I have a credit score of 482 with so many derogatory items that are from 3 years ago. I couldn't condole it anymore as most of my colleagues at work have their personal cars. I felt in despair most times considering my predicament. After a quick research of a credit specialist called SAFEPORT with numerous recommendations and that which my boyfriend Simon explained about with positive reviews and referrals. I contacted them explaining my problem. SAFEPORT CREDIT SPECIALIST came up with a resounding proposal and guaranteed my derogatory items wiped, reports and scores enhanced within 12 working days. With so much anxiety I waited and to my greatest surprise after 6 days my report was sound with positive trade lines posted on it including a revolving credit card, a 807 credit score and all negative reports were deleted. I got approved for a loan, got my car and most especially got myself together. I strongly recommend him for your credit fix. Email: safeportcreditspecialist@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteIn April of this year my mom asked me to open a credit card to pay for flight tickets. It was supposed to be no more than $700. She said she would pay it off in 2 months. Fast forward 4 months later and my mom sends me a message saying that she accidentally paid the card late that month but she will pay once she gets her next check. Up until this point I’ve never looked at the account because I had no reason to.
ReplyDeleteWhen she told me that I decided to log on and pay off the rest of what she owed because I had some extra money. When I opened the account, I was very shocked to see that she owed over $1,800. I did notice that I kept receiving emails that my credit score was dropping, but I didn’t pay much attention to it . I am a longtime authorized user on one of my mom’s credit cards, and it normally changes based on her activity. Upon further research, I noticed it was significantly dropping because of this card. I got scared because I am in medical school and I’m going to eventually need my credit score for private loans during the third year when I can no longer get money from the government.
To make a long story short, I told her that she didn’t have to worry about paying it anymore because I will take it over. I did this because I had money to help out, and I thought it would be a kind thing to do since she was clearly struggling to pay it off. The only thing that I asked was for her not to continue using the card while I got the balance down. She immediately got defensive and it became a much bigger thing. She cut up the credit card and accused me of trying to hurt her. After that, I removed her from being an authorized user to prevent her from logging onto the account and paying the balance down with money I knew she didn’t have and keep her from unlocking her authorized card.
I am very new to credit, so I thought that removing her was simply removing her access to the account. Our relationship eventually repaired. However, she angrily texted me and told me that her credit score dropped nearly 200 points and it was because of me removing her. I feel terrible because I didn’t know it would happen. Had I known I wouldn’t have done it. So I asked a question on a credit forum. Is it possible that removing her has caused this much damage and if so, what can I do to help her? A friend immediately recommended SAFEPORT CREDIT SPECIALIST. He Testified how Safeport Credit Specialist has helped so many people with their credit issues. So immediately emailed them on: safeportcreditSpecialist@gmail.com he responded and upon reaching agreements with him, he promised to get the scores up back within 12 days maximum and remove all negative items on the report including lates payments/credit card debts. 6 days later all negative items were erased including late payment was all marked as paid on time. SAFEPORT CREDIT SPECIALIST raised her scores to 800+. I’m so excited for what he did for me and my mom. She now has a good credit profile. If you need help in fixing your credit, I’ll recommend you to them and get yours fixed too.
Honestly I do not enjoy writing much, but I have to let the world know about this genius that helped me. Seriously, I needed a home for my family, but I couldn’t get one because of the Evictions, my current scores are in the 400's and dropped from the mid 500’s because of late payments. I recently lost my job and have only been employed recently. I took out tons of credit cards during college to get by and maxed them out. After college due to health reasons I did not always have steady work. Finally, for the first time in my life, I have steady work and can build myself up. However I’ve tanked my credit, I felt hopeless about it. I really would like to get back to the 500’s-700’s by this time next year. I read about SAFEPORT CREDIT SPECIALIST at Quora and Reddit. Few days after I contacted safeport credit specialist they increased my scores to 803 and improved my credit profile by removing the evictions, charge offs and late payments. I’ve never seen such a relentless and amazing service in my life before. They made my next year dream of getting a home for my family come through this year. Got our first key at Kenosha $278k at 6.875%. I swear to God I never believed I’ll be able to get a home for my family this year. Wish I could express how happy I feel now with this message. SAFEPORT CREDIT SPECIALIST really did it for me. I urge everyone to contact them for any related credit issues. Email SAFEPORTCREDITSPECIALIST@GMAIL.COM
