AREA 4 DETECTIVES CHARGE MAN WITH LAWNDALE MURDER

Brian Thompson, 19, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder in the shooting death of an 18-year-old Lawndale man and the wounding of a juvenile.

    Chicago Police arrested and charged 19-year-old Brian Thompson of the 4100 block of West 21st Place with one count of first Degree Murder for the March 2010 killing of an 18-year-old victim who was shot several times and later died of his injuries. The homicide took place on the 1900 block of South St. Louis Avenue. In the incident, a juvenile victim also sustained a gunshot wound. He was treated at an area hospital.
    Area 4 Detectives identified Brian Thompson as the offender based upon information they gathered during the investigation. An Investigation Alert was issued and the Gang Enforcement Unit located Brian Thompson in the 3000 block of West Cullerton, where he was taken into custody without incident. Detectives are continuing their investigation into this matter.
