COMMUNITY CELEBRATES AS ALD. MITTS OPENS NEW ALDI STORE

Alderman Emma Mitts declares, “Business is booming in Chicago’s 37th ward,” as she prepares to cut the ribbon, officially opening the newest Aldi store at 1440 North Kostner Avenue. The store design is the latest prototype for the discount grocery chain, featuring bright lights, colorful signage, wide aisles, and convenient, accessible product displays.
Community leaders, clergy, and performers from Brian Piccolo, West Park, and Alfred Nobel Schools provided a festive flair to the Grand Opening ceremonies.
Aldi is merely the latest in a strong line of new retail establishments Alderman Mitts has attracted to Chicago’s West Side, bringing more that 900 jobs and generating substantial sales tax revenues for the City. Her other retail recruitments include Wal-Mart, Menard’s, Food 4 Less, A.J. Wright, and Skechers.
